This game is continued from In Omnia Paratus @ greatestjournal.
In Omnia Paratus is a Harry Potter RPG, focusing on Hogwarts' attempt to rebuild and foster unity among the witches and wizards who make up its student body during the second war against Voldemort. Harry Potter has returned to Hogwarts, and so has Draco Malfoy. In the midst of war, one must be prepared for anything.
June 1996. Weddings and Horcruxes.
At Bill and Fleur's wedding, Mundungus Fletcher overheard Harry confessing to Lupin that he was going to hunt the Horcruxes. Fletcher kept this information on the side and said nothing. Lupin tried to stop Harry but was, himself, intrigued by the idea and reluctantly let Harry go, with the promise that Harry would try to keep in touch. Lupin was also relieved that Hermione and Ron were not going to let Harry go alone.
Fletcher ended up selling the information about Harry's quest to Snape, who needed the information because he feared he could not keep Draco safe much longer on his own. However, once Fletcher was no longer needed, Snape murdered him. Snape knew that Harry had a chance to find almost all of the remaining Horcruxes, save the one that RAB took, the fake one Dumbledore died for. The reason Snape knew this is because he had the whereabouts of that particular Horcrux. Regulus Black gave over the Horcrux before he died (Snape was given the task of torturing and killing Black himself, and when the secret came out, he kept mum on the location of the true Horcrux, since Voldemort doesn't know the Horcrux was missing.) Snape decided to use this information as Draco's ticket for safe passage back into Hogwarts.
July 1996. Secrets Kept.
Snape didn't want to go through McGonagall and the rest; he suspected that they wouldn't trust him and would have Draco taken on the spot. Thus, Snape approached Lupin to plead on Draco's behalf. Lupin, after agreeing to the task of Secret Keeper, tells McGonagall that Draco did not intend to kill Dumbledore, is sorry, and is in need of protecting. However, due to bounds of the secret, he cannot mention the Horocrux. Harry reluctantly corroborates Lupin's story, adding in the bits of conversation that occurred on the tower, including Dumbledore's wanting Draco safe. Subsequently, McGonagall and the Order bring Draco to Hogwarts under the strict guidelines that he cannot set foot outside the castle.
August to September 1996. Return to Hogwarts.
Harry was injured severely while searching out the Horcruxes and, as a result, was forced back to Hogwarts by the Order with the addendum that should any new information about the final Horcrux's whereabouts come up, Harry (along with Hermione and Ron) would be able to leave and search for it.
Hermione was selected as Head Girl, and Theodore Nott was chosen as Head Boy.
Trips to Hogsmeade have been canceled, but due to in game events, Quidditch has been reinstated, under strict conditions. All students are under stern guidelines to remain in the castle unless escorted by a professor.
The need for inter-house unity, as well as the need to remain indoors, prompts McGonagall to allow the House common rooms to be open to all students.
Hogwarts opens its doors, but not all students return. Also, due to the war, a new class is not asked to enter.
Those returning are connected by a new tool: magical journals, which are offered as both a method of communication and a way of preventing an attack similar to the one at the end of sixth year. It can be assumed the Death Eaters would have a similar mode of communication, but they cannot read what the students or professors write if it is charmed against them.
Another Year Rolls By…
The war rages on: the Ministry is attacked and pulled under by Death Eaters, whose triumph there is only followed by more death and chaos, as family members of the students are killed or held prisoner.
Theodore Nott makes the bold choice to defect to the other side, gaining his father’s freedom and eventual Order support as well. Furthermore, his love affair with Hermione Granger sets the school into an uproar. House unity teeters on the edge before finally becoming the way of things, at least on the surface.
Lucius Malfoy is killed in his cell at Azkaban, or so the world thinks, leaving Draco and Narcissa to plan and calculate which side is better for their survival. Draco, to the surprise of most, decides that helping Potter murder the monster who slew his father is better than joining the other side, though his aunt Bellatrix has other ideas.
The Order wins a decisive victory, freeing the Minister and bringing what’s left of the Ministry of Magic to Hogsmeade.
Harry Potter begins experiencing visions once more of the Dark Lord’s delights and the terrifying depths of his rage at failure. His own personal frustrations at the lack of momentum in the horcrux quest are only slightly aided by the turning of the tide, for another of the friends and loved ones among his supporters, Angelina Johnson, goes missing and then kidnapped, held and tortured by the Lestranges while the Order makes a secret, desperate attempt at rescue.
And Lucius Malfoy at last secures his release from the Dark Lord’s captivity.
June comes and goes, bringing with it the final days which tie both Harry and Draco to Hogwarts. And so the class of 1997 faces a tumultuous decision: to join the Death Eaters, the Order, or struggle to remain neutral? Will Draco repent of his choice? Can Harry locate the horcruxes in time? How many of his classmates will seek to follow the dark, and how many the light?
Who is truly prepared to sacrifice it all?
